Herb Garden Clean-up!

Yesterday's pleasant weather called me to action. One of my favorite gardens to weed is the Herb Garden. The oregano was in serious need of a good haircut, in spite of the protest of the the flittering "Skippers ".

The wonderful scent of basil, thyme and mint filled the air as I went about my numerous cleaning task. Plus a bonus to weeding in this garden is my Bose Radio just inside my Herb House. I crank it up and weed away to the "Oldies but Goodies"

Again I am reminded why I love the Herb Garden.

Bee Balm Be Gone????

So every time I get frustrated with the wildness of this Bee Balm, a hummingbird talks to me.

I keep thinking by the back-porch, I need less plants more conformity. But just as I am thinking about pulling the Bee Balm out a hummingbird zips pass me and is on the Bee Balm.

As I am stewing over the ugly Cone Flowers , a finch is hanging out eating the seeds out of the dying seed head.

So they are safe for another year!

After Work

After all day dealing with issues, it is so wonderful to come home to my gardens.

I am not a farmer, nor have I spent years growing veggies, but I love coming home and cooking from the garden. I put fresh radishes on the chicken salad, basil on the great tomatoes sliced from the garden and finished by putting it on the last of the fresh spinach. Wow it was wonderful. Plus it makes me so happy to be eating from my garden.
